Fuel consumption

Having lived with cars with less than 200 mile ranges, not doing worse than that was a criteria when I selected the tt. I'll admit that range was a bigger deal than actual mpg numbers. However, I also care not to be driving something that gets 10mpg every day. It's simply not necessary for a daily driver that mainly takes me to an office job.
What's special about the 997.1tt is its ability to get 22mpg on my commute, or ~14mpg, or somewhere in between, depending on how many of the three (short) ramps I encounter traffic on. I don't think I'll ever take the convertible to a track, but I am very curious just how low I could get that number if I did.

I'm averaging 16.3 with my current use which is barely any freeway, mainly canyons and some multi-lane city streets. I'm sure on some individual drives it gets down to 10-12.
I averaged 23.7 @ 70mph on my maiden drive back from Colorado to LA last year.
