I agreed. I mentioned something about wondering if the DSC would be hindering my launches and then all the sudden they bring this out. I'm sure they thought of it before me, but very cool that they are Thinking about us that drag race.

Just out of curiosity, what changes in the DSC that the box has to be upgraded? Seems like it would be a firmware update more than a hardware update.

I just purchased and installed this thing. And now have to send it back and spend more money. Great. lol

Sorry for not responding sooner, we've been working flat out!

For those interested, the DSC Launch Control option for 2007-2012 997 Turbo/Turbo S and 997.2's is a $100 option when buying a DSC controller new.
For customer who purchased their controller from a DSC Sport dealer in 2018-2019 the upgrade fee for Launch Control is $100 + shipping(the DSC must be sent in for this upgrade).
For 2017 and earlier controllers the upgrade fee is $250 + shipping.(the DSC must be sent in for this upgrade).

Thanks Tom,

My immediate question is, what are the differences between the generations of DSC? I had a very early unit, that was replaced for a "2 mode" unit in February 2016 and now it looks like I need to replace again? Keen to try out the new features, but imagine there are more changes under the hood to warrant the physical swap again.

There are differences in the processors and how the boards are made but to be completely transparent, there's no performance difference to the car, the newer controllers use newer model processors at the time of manufacturing and newer manufacturing specs to meet current production standards. Through these internal manufacturing changes the DSC controller for all 997 car remains as the "V1" model. There is no need to buy another DSC V1, your current DSC V1 functions as good on a 997 car as a brand new V1 that's on shelf today.

I sent off my module to DSC for the 997.2 launch control upgrade, and got it back very quickly. It also now allows me to toggle the shocks when in Sport+ mode.

Very good to know about the toggle in sport plus also. Thanks.

I've not had time to pull mine and send it. Hoping to real soon.
