Any recommendations? I have a set of ramps I need to drive up before I can get a regular floor jack under the car. I don't have room for a lift and just need something so I can take the wheels off and do minor work. Thanks.
I have a US Jack (American made) 4 ton floor jack and some of their other stuff. Real high quality and rebuildable...will outlive me... http://www.usjack.com/index.html
For low pro I bought an aluminum US General (made in China!) from Harbor Freight. It has lasted 10+ years but I don't trust it...lift and then use a stand.
Igooz, is this the Pittsburg "lightweight" floor jack from Harbor Freight? I need to remove a rear wheel and leave the car on the jack or ?? for at least one day. I have a Craftsman red floor jack that should work for me, but I need to leave the car in the air for 24-48hrs.
If I use the rear "lift point" on my 997.1TT, is there anywhere to rest the car or do I need to leave the car on the raised jack?

I don't have Pittsburg...I have not stepped into HF in 10+ years...
You do NOT leave the car on the jack...jack stands folks!!!
I use the Craftsman red "racing" jack. Mine gets fairly regular use as I use it at the track as well as home. The seals on these tend to go bad after a few years but can be fixed, or you just replace the whole jack since they're not horribly expensive.
So what point on the car do I rest a jack stand if I am using the jack "point" with the jack? I need to remove a wheel to have it repaired and the car will be "up" for 1-2 days
I like this jack a lot and would have already ordered it, however I want to use it with the jackpoint jackstands. With the handles on the side of this jack, do you know if it will fit under the jackpoint jackstands? I'm worried it's too wide to fit.

The handles are held on by two allen bolts, so those can be easily taken off if jack didn't fit under the jackpoint stands with them on. Do you know how big the inner pad is for the jackpoint stands?
