Mine came with the optional thicker steering wheel. Surprised because it doesn't seem thick at all. Curious what the skinny one is like!

Still take that wheel over mine anyday.

Think 1977 Pontiac vintage and you'll be almost dead on the 997.1 standard wheel

mine was with the "optional thick" wheel too LOL! Coming from M cars, the Porsche steering wheel is not up to par IMO

Mine is the top one as well and is the XPA option wheel. I believe the bottom one is a "extra thick padding" special-order on TOP of the XPA option. It looks way too thick for my taste and average hand size, but that's definitely a personal preference.

I'm 99% sure that the natural grey cars (like mine) use black for steering wheels and shifter boots, so that's what i would go with anyway.

I know it's subjective, but I don't know why anyone would crave that wheel. I think they're fugly.
