Could be a good reason why it's for sale again and at a discount...

Just my opinion but the GTS does not compare to the TT. Totally different car and very limited performance mods possible on the GTS. The TT is unlimited..

It's your call but that is my 2 cents.

Sounds like you haven't settled on a car. The GTS power kit is nothing compared to the power of the turbo. How long do you plan to keep the car? Why not consider an 07 gt3 for backroads driving? I'd wager a gt3 will hold its value a bit better than a turbo. But the turbo is can be driven to the opera or at the track. Just enjoy the search. But don't enjoy it too much because the ride is so much more fun. Life is short.

No I have not settled 100%. I'm kind of enjoying the search!?
The GTS had a down payment put on it last week and the deal fell through. It has 22k miles, with 3 years left on CPO. I know it is limited performance but it is much lighter and would probably handle better.

I'm thinking i will keep the car for 5 years. My main use will be 10 to 20 day trips to great roads, no DD.

I considered GT3 but it may be to raw for multi day trips. Again not sure about that either.

You will do better depreciation wise in a Turbo or a GT3. I cannot think of a reason I'd buy a GTS & I think many would feel the same way. If a GTS was a option- I'd probably get the new targa in a PTS Polar Silver.
The rest is just marketing to get ppl into the last of the 997 bodies before the 991.

Let the flamin' begin.

I was finally able to drive a 997 C2 MT. I enjoyed the steering feel, exhaust note, more linear power and of course the chuckability - made more familiar because of the 993 I drive.
Hey German_Saint -- Yes, depreciation is a factor but in the end I'd rather take a hit and have a great time doing it, the GTS or GT3 falls in that wheelhouse for me. This came after the dealer let me put about 500 miles on the 07 997 TT & given the enthusiasm for the car on this forum, I really gave it a shot. Will I miss the hit - sure. Could I make all the recommended changes - sure, but for this car my money will probably go to a RWD.

In the end all the input was appreciated.

I think that the GTS has the "wide" body of the C4S but RWD like the C2S and not as expensive as the GT3. So an excellent choice for a 997NA.

The only down fall would be the CL...there were very few 5lug GTS I think?

Have fun!

I found a very lightly optioned 2012 GTS coupe with MT and no CL's - yeah!

Done Deal - bought a 07 GT3 (not a typo "GT3") White 14k miles, CPO for 50k miles. It's a frikin gem. Also on the right side of the border.
