Default 07 997 TT - Deal almost done

https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...-07-turbo.html

My first post in 997 Turbo Forum.
I posted in 997 and this is where it got me:

I figured less headache for me to buy the car that is nearby and get down to enjoying it! Thank You all for the input.

Got the dealer to 74,500 US$ 17K miles 07 997 TT

With the following additional equipment.

342 - Heated Seats
404 - 19" Turbo wheels
437 - Standard Seats
480 - Manual transmission
640 - Sport Chrono Package Turbo
DF - Stone Grey Full Leather
U2 - GT Silver Metallic
XMZ - Rear Center Console in Leather

I'm guessing it is pretty much where the market is at?
What do you think

Don't mean to sound like a Debbie Downer, but that car is very sparsely optioned. No sport seats, LSD or any other exclusive options. I'd personally look for a better optioned car.

so it's grey on silver... basically only the chrono option. Didn't realize the 19"s were an option, thought they were standard, i think you could do much better on the price.

With AWD is LSD that necessary? It will not be driven in winter.

I realize it is has few options. I've got a 996 so I know lightly optioned. Nothing is down on paper so I am open to suggestion.

Which options would you consider to be more necessary and which are just nice to have?

Your a Porsche guy. Go with what you like- low miles and a good price (imo). seems like a winner.

I respectfully disagree.

The contributors of this site have helped guide which car to get with feedback that can only be had through personal experience. I asked because I didn't know specifically what I wanted in a car and it gets expensive to do it the other way (I've gone the expensive route buying motorcycles).

What's the harm in refining that search concerning a rudimentary guide to options of which I know very little about.

To me an LSD is essential if the car is to be driven in spirited fashion on back roads. As are the sport seats - very supportive and comfortable.

THX ilko - My main use for this car is doing 8K mile trips to the mountains seeking backroads. I have owned the 996 for 13 months and have put 30K miles on it doing just that.

my turbo doesn't have LSD.. it's fine without. From someone would sold lots of Porsche cars- the vehicles soul doesn't come in options.. those are extras that satisfy personal tastes and add profit to the bottom line.

If you'd like a highly optioned vehicle - I have one for $64,997. It'll have all the porsche inspections you want.. MSRP $156k. I have a thread I updated.

I was being kind in the fact that I wouldn't tell someone to not buy something bc it didn't have xyz.. you can play that game all-day long and never buy a car.

LSD: it is good for higher performance driving requiring turning where you get a side to side wheel speed differential or braking where they lock on decel. Most people don't even know if they have one or not, or if the LSD is worn or not...you can not even get it with TIP tranny.

Adaptive seats (A.S.S.)...most folks like them specially if you are a "larger" guy. I much prefer the sport seats or sport buckets.

Get as much leather in the car as you can...I love full leather and suede headliner.

I only get PCCB...opinions vary.

For me: PCCB+sport bucket+LSD are a must and I would do radio delete but can't.

Since you ask.

GT silver is a very nice color on a 997 Turbo, was a 'special color' costing extra.

A base turbo is already a perfect car. Consider the rest a bonus.
For resale I would consider Sport Chrono a necessity and that's on board.

All the rest is either easy to add or change.

Adaptive seats : I had them on my 07 , did not care for them much.
Have GT2 Bucket seats now and those are great. (My car came with the standard seats)

LSD: forget about it, do you miss it in your 996 ? If not do not let a perfect car go because of this. Not many have it anyway.
And if you absolutely want LSD you can have it installed.

If the car comes with a CPO warranty the price is OK, on the high side of OK but still.

Most important should be condition, not the options.
Is the paint 100% original ? What about scratches ? Interior wear and tear ?

Personally I would like PCCB and no rear wiper.

I think its a good buy. I wont be CPO since its so old, but its a nice car. Dont listen to everyone, most people are too opinionated.

Also not to be a jerk, but the orange car(ilko) in this post did not sell, when it was being sold. Its hit or miss with re-sale.
