Might be worth a suit for the 997 TT coolant pipe issues as well..

Lets face it this isn't the 1st coolant failure of a Porsche.

I think the cars that are showing the failures are run hard or tracked.

In these cases pinning the hoses should be done anyway.

My question has anyone had a failure that never tracked or raced there car repeatedly?

The Dealers by me all say that normal use the failure will not occur.

This issue affects all 996/997 turbo/gt2/gt3 with the gt engines. It's a matter of time. Track use may or may not accelerate. My shop had a 996 turbo in, no track, no mods and it had a leaking fitting pipe and a few others on the housing were so loose they pulled out with no heat needed. Porsche used an epoxy thAt is degrading with time and heat cycles. Feel free to ignore its your car but if you track you damn well better run distilled water and water wetter if you are not welded or pinned.

I agree, that 90 deg bend is how the hose is routed stock which is on everybody's car who hasn't fixed it. You can see the deteriorating epoxy, and I'd be willing to bet dollars to donuts that it wasn't caused by a few extra runs on the drag strip that I might have. The hose connections just slipped off without any heat once the engine was out.

Have all the failures been in the US, or any european cars suffered from this ?
I'd not heard of it before, despite asking dealers over here of common issues to look out for.
Maybe the road cars dont suffer (yet).

Any details on how the pipes are staked ?
Not relishing the thought of an engine out job to fix this if it happens :-/
