Default Can someone take a look at this car please!

Hello,

I found this on ebay and it got me interested. The price is within my budget and the car seems to have everything I would want.

However, there is one problem, the car is located in Chicago and I live in SoCal. Being a newbie in cars, was wondering if any of you can give me some suggestions. I know I need to a PPI and DME readings, but how do I get that scheduled from another location? Also are there any shop/dealers that you guys would recommend to get the PPI from?

Here is the link:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-911-...US_Cars_Trucks

The car's VIN is : WP0AD299X9S766180

Thank you so much! Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

-Dennis

Not a real reputable seller. Proceed with caution. You could have a PPI done at Westmont Porsche. About 8 miles from this location.

^+1 Russ is the service manager at Napleton Porsche (Westmont) and he can do a thorough PPI. They are used to PPIs....

This extotic car dealer "flips" lot of cars and have been around a while...I would just say that they sell all sorts of cars, and you just need to have the car inspected and decide. Agree up front that if the PPI identifies more than > $X of repairs that you can then back out of the deal or they would pay the pcar dealer fix it (not their own grease monkey).

First make sure the seller is willing to bring the car for PPI. If they're not shady they should have no problem with it.

Next find a reputable shop nearby. I'd probably trust a good independent more than a dealer but that just me. Make sure to discuss what their PPI consists of, what they look at etc. It should be pretty thorough and include metering the paint and DME readout and more.

Then just schedule a date and have the seller bring the car over.

Good luck!

Also in case you are curious, I ran the VIN, here's the car's build sheet:

kchu221, did those service record pushed you away from the purchase? (It is perfectly fine if you do not want to answer this question.)

Hi

I did take a look at this car a few weeks ago, but did not take it for a test drive. In my opinion, the car appear to be very clean. I suspect the front bumper had a respray, but I think that is quite common to do. In the end, my concern was the amount of RED in the interior, especially the roof consol. The wood insert looks less dominating in person. A PPI should provide the more technical information. For PPI, make sure they test the clutch in 5th gear at full boost. Good luck, knut
