Battery was charged when I got home. Reinstalled and confirmed everything is back as it should be, and that charger is now working with battery installed. Will see how it holds.

Wish the weather was good, would have been great to go for a drive on Guy Fawkes!

nz, you are blessed with the best engineered and maintained roads in the world, and the nicest people to meet driving them. I saw one minor pothole, and pointed it out to a local. He said, come back after lunch, it will be gone.

We did 3200 km in 16 days covering both islands. Too bad it was a rental car, but I would have been in trouble with the TT.

Trust me, there's a few more pot holes to be found. You're right though; NZ roads are incredibly fun to drive. I did top to bottom and back of the North Island two weeks after buying the car, so much fun. Planning on a full island tour towards the end of summer, can't wait!

When I had a showroom full I called it "the ghost in the machine".. idk battery charged properly etc makes good sense. I still don't leave items in my front trunk though after randomly coming into work & seeing a hood popped open. very weird.

You are opening the frunk because the key is being pressed while it is in your pocket. Porsche sells a kit to replace the buttons or search 6speedonline for a write-up on how to trim down the buttons. I did it on my fob and have not had the problem since.

I'd agree if it wasn't for the fact I was away on holiday when it happened and the keys never spent any time in a pocket between it being locked and me finding the frunk open. I'll still look at it though, sounds like a logical change to make.

I just read an article that bears in Colorado and Montana have learned to open car doors and steal food. They get in and get out without doing any damage. Perhaps, the NZ bushtail possum has figured out how to unlock TT frunks? Catch a snooze at night and get out early in the am?

Funny thing is I've occasionally found footprints across the bonnet and windscreen of the car. Think it's the neighbors' cat however...
