Default Minor oil leak found. From where?..

Noticed a few small drops on the garage floor after a couple of hours of driving today. Looks as though it's been there to a certain degree for a little while, though haven't noted any spillage before. Anyone have any experience or thoughts on what it could be?

Car in for a check in a couple of days, but keen to understand what's happening beforehand.

NZ, the leak is coming from the aluminum crush washer. Your picture shows the right passenger bank cam housing scavenge pump. It is a gear driven oil pump (attached to your exhaust cam). The oil line connects to a fitting. The fitting screws into the pump housing and has a aluminum sealing ring. This sealing ring has failed. It is not a difficult repair. You might want to help the tech out by washing this area at a car wash.

Thanks Kevin, your guidance is much appreciated. Gave it a clean after taking the photos both to try verify source and help with repair.

Still leaking a small amount after sitting overnight. Definitely needs a thorough clean!

It won't stop leaking on it's own. The sealing ring needs to be replaced. From you picture you have the line>then the nut> fitting>aluminum sealing ring>pump housing ( right to left)

I had the same but not as bad....it was not even driping just very minor, they had to spray leak trace powder and found the oil leaking from the oil return line to the scavenger pump, vacuum pump O-rings and a bolt to the camshaft cover. The O-ring and the bolt is easy. The line to the scavenger pump, they had to lift out the enjine to repair. Good luck.

Had a smaller leak in the same area. As mentioned it is likely at the union nut in the return line--an easy fix.

You guys were right. Leak definitely from that point. Mechanic hesitant to remove due to a bit of corrosion on the nut/join, so ordering a replacement. Two week lead time to get it in from Germany (to NZ). Apparently fine to drive in this state. So no real drama, just have to wait!

Update to this. The following week from my last post the two aluminum washers were replaced, as well as a gasket. Haven't had a single drop leak since.
