RS4 was a great car, however since you want torque this may not be an option. Out of all the cars in question Audi's IMO have the best interiors. Not the HP you want but take a look at a 2013 S4, loved this car and still am considering buying one.

Y,
Its unfortunate we did not get to meet when you were in the bay area, as i know someone with an RS4 that you could have driven. I apologize as a lot of commitments came up last moment with family.
That said, for a 4 door car, the RS4 is awesome. I have man handle that car on the mtn roads that many can only dream of.

Gotta find an RS4 for a test drive now

I went through this too. My take on the RS4 is that the back seat was non-existent for little ones. Great car though, so that's something to consider.
Another nimble, tunable, and less ricey suggestion may be a 335 sedan. The backseat is bigger than an RS4, lots of ways to make it faster, it's turbo-charged and not high strung, and can be had relatively cheap.

RS4 is an awesome car but impossible to find an unmolested one since they are the stepping stones after rice rockets. But great choice!
I drove a new S4 with the full Staesis kit but the 6 cylinder/SC did not do anything for me. Rumors are that Audi will bring the new RS4 back to the US.
Have someone build you a custom car...like transplant an entire M5 Powertrain and chassis into a 5-series wagon... two of these going on right now, but it will cost more than $50k. I have done this twice and if properly done it can be awesome!

E63---I know you said you have experience with the E class AMG, but it has my vote for a DD with the desired complimentary capabilities to the Porsche. While my E’s 4.1 0 to 60 isn’t the 2.6 of my TTS, it’s still outstandingly fast, with great brakes and decent handling for its weight, but with seating for 4, a trunk for 4 tour golf bags, adjustable ride height for less friendly roads, and an all around user friendly, dependable, easy to maintain daily vehicle.
it was a great car but I already had one W212-(550)
and I really wanted the new, at the time, cls, which I have now......
the E was a great car and I found myself driving it more than my 550 because of the power, brakes, suspension and of course that great NA engine.....sounded so nice!!
I know you mentioned you didn't really like the E, but for a DD it's a great choice

RS4, yes I need to drive it but like I said before, I am not a great fan of Audi interior lay out.
Subaru WRX STi: Love the car but besides being bit small, I don'tt think at my ripe ago of 40+, I would like to drive that with 2 kids in the back
Audi TT: Too small
M5: Wife has a 530i and I love driving it but two cars with the same body style not to mention not much torque, I guess it's not on top of the list though.
E9X M3 sedan: Not enough torque and I don't like high revving motors
E39 M5: Love it and might have to drive it again but last time when I drove it, I found it pretty heavy too especially for most of my in town driving?
E63: Had it for 3 hours the other day and did not like it at all. I remember when I was buying my E55, even then I didn't like the E63.
Thanks and please keep the suggestions coming even though there aren't many options left over.
Just get another cheaper 997TT!!! Or just get a 997 carrera!! CPO

And the best part is, it's unique and you don't see them on every corner.
