C2 Turbo...that is what is getting sorted at the body shop. That would drive me bonkers if we let that go like that...

Oh, I understand the bumper cover is not metal. I just noticed that many of the aftermarket covers fit very poorly and require a lot of bodyshop shimming and whatnot to make it sit square. That's all fine if you have a good bodyshop guy, but if not, oh god...

Good luck on the project. Hope it turns out the way you envisioned!

For some odd reason, even the texture of the rear bumper looks different. I hope once it's painted it won't be noticeable

C2 Turbo...been down this road before with the SL65 Prior Design wide body kit we are doing now. It is done and getting put back together...so much prep work, filler work, clear, and color sanding...but it looks epic now. I am confident the body shop can handle it...

They do total restorations on vintage Porsches and the owner is old school German...he hates it when we bring in these fiberglass body kits. They look good finished but damn if it doesn't take a lot of work...but I knew that getting into it.

They repainted my 993tt below changing it from Artic to Polar Silver...amazing work.

i think thats why they're asking why you didn't just go with OE parts from the beginning, avoiding the headache...

Getting ready for paint...any minor gap issues will be fixed and be proper...not doing all this work and letting a gap line annoy the crap out of me.

Stopped by the upholsterer shop today...took some progress pics. Between the new red leather and color matched dye, we will remedy any color differences in materials.

The new leather is so much softer and luxurious than the OE leather...All carpet will be replaced with the new leather. We will have a rear seat delete...similar to the 993tt build. The center console area will get wrapped and color matched dyed (for the hard plastic pieces)...

Pic of front subwoofer enclosure that was recovered in new leather...we will retain the front sub because it actually creates good mid bass up front. Like I said the front carpet will be replaced with leather. The front of the dash and A pillars will be wrapped in new leather...the mid to back portion of the dash will be color matched dyed. A custom front mats will be made too...

The door panel..."L" will be recovered in leather..."D" will be color matched dyed (areas of hard plastic)..."C" are carbon fiber (door handle, door latch, ABS logo, and top of door panel storage bin.

Front fuse box cover re-wrapped...

Rear side panels...and rear seat delete with the front of the sub enclosure showing...(the CF bezel for the sub port and the bottom of the enclosure is shown)

New floor panels coming together...

Rear bumper bottom CF portion...not fully finished or polished...we are waiting for the bodywork to get painted.

Some pics sent from Chris@C2Design...the new CF work is beautiful...not even polished yet. It's a tighter weave CF...I think once put together it'll be sweet. The rear bumper with CF is done and Chris says it is very well done...more pics to come.

Sorry but I may have missed the origin of the build...is this your personal vehicle? Or a show vehicle for an event? Or a customer vehicle?

...By the way...In my car career I have done 3 all out ($$$) custom car builds...So I appreciate what you are trying to do. I see a lot of craftsmanship and pride...I am enjoying your posts and pix!

Igooz...thanks for the kind words. BTW...thanks to all you folks. It's a hobby I've fallen into...which my wife wishes I would fall out of...

It's a fine line in modifying an already nice vehicle. I really don't want to make things look or feel worse...I know what I like and for the most part what looks "proper"...C2Design's crew and myself always are wary of trying too hard and staying in the bounds of the spirit of the build.

Quality work in a no "short cut" way with focus on details (that usually all non-enthusiast would never notice) is our goal...I tell C2Design and they agree...do it right or don't do it at all.
