Default OEM SSK vs GT3 shifter

Guys - know this has been discussed a lot and I've read through the past posts but wanted to ask if there were any other opinions out there?

I need to decide on this by tomorrow AM as my car is already in the shop. I have the OEM SSK in hand. Know some have found it a bit too notchy where the GT3 is smoother.

I have the carrerra RS shifter in my 993 and it's very notchy but I don't really mind it. Of course I don't drive my 993 as aggressively as I do my 997 tt.

Should I just put the OEM SSK in or should I opt for the GT3 shifter?

Search for posts by user Kevin - he's strongly biased to the GT3. Personally I have the OEM SSK - works great.

I had an OEM SSK in my first 997 and have a OEM GT3 SSK awaiting installation. Once it's installed I'll pass along my thoughts.

i wish i had tried both and could help more instead of sway you against my initial suggestion.

i personally like my SSK, much better than my standard shifter.. but i guess curiousity killed the cat when it comes to the GT3 shifter.

i love the 1-2 feel, but 3/4 seems notchy at times... i have driven many different cars so maybe what i feel is normal because i am used to less assisted shifts.. and raw gearboxes...

ssk is def a great choice, but how is the GT3... i personally will never make the swap... ssk is good for me... my biggest qualm w/ shifts is my LWFW and stage 3 clutch which makes daily driving hectic to do in ease.. (isn't bad but the clutch is very stiff and a very short on/off point)

Thx for the replies gents.

I moved fwd with the OEM SSK (install shot below).

Haven't driven the car yet but the throws feel great. Not nearly as notchy as I anticipated.
