perfect history, warranty, had one small dent pass door that got pdr removed perfectly.. was triple back and located in los angeles.. nothing wrong.. i found a few around the price (couple grand more)

i feel the car was priced a couple grand low because trade in and just wanted to sell. it was previously CPO'd as well and that carried on w the car cause at porsche dealer.

I checked KBB and you're right, it wasn't below market by a lot. KBB quoted $84k for a CPO car. I expected it would to be higher based on the prices reported for '07s here on RL.
edit: assuming KBB is even close to actual market data

A clean 09 manual CPO car, well optioned, low mile should be trading in the high 80s/low 90s, unless it has high miles or a story.

'09 for sure, if your budget allows....

Very happy I was able to buy this '09 new when the time was right.

True but closely followed by 07/08 997tt's.

The difference in desirability will be much less than f.ex. between a 930 4 and 5sp (last prod. year) and 964t 3.3 and 3.6 (last prod.year)

You clearly see this already today. We (buyers) are apparently not prepared to buy a '09 no matter what. We prefer to buy a 07/08 in our desired spec as has been seen here several times.

I have had several opportunities to buy nice '09's but bought a '08 because it appealed to me much more because of options and color combo.

If this trend continues the difference between the 3 model years will be small. Condition and options will dictate 'treasureness' and not PCM3.

But for sure, given similar spec and color the '09 trumps !

We all knew this was coming...the end of manual transmissions. As I've stated in a previous post I want a Metzger block 997 turbo with a manual transmission. I'm done...until I find one in Atlas Gray.

It has to be a 2009 with Mezger, new PCM, throw in the limited slip axle/diff lock option and a factory aerokit.

Ah- TT Surgeon- didn't see it was you- just the post before I clicked to reply. Your info is spot on generally so I'm pulling the manheim numbers.

Hard to argue this ^^ limited options such as aerokit are worth premium down the road to the right person.... or just makes it rare & interesting. May not be for everyone, but will be for someONE --all you need is 1.

Wow, I must admit that even I am a little shocked to see that so far not a single person has jumped into this thread to advocate for the 2010+ 997 Turbo's.

I'm not surprised as this thread morphed from a MT discussion to more about the legendary Mezger engine in the 07-09's and the newer PCM in the 09's. These with MTs are becoming more and more sought after. The 10 - 12's have the newer DFI engines, some still with MTs.

I would not mind picking up a 2010-2012 MT Cab.

I would not mind a 2012 6spd Cpe, but the asking prices are astronomical. I can't seem to find one for a reasonable amount.

You asked for 'best MY' so ...
Anyway , there is nothing wrong with the DI's. But a Porsche without a Mezger is just not the same. It's all in the head you know

When I look under the rear of my car and I see that familiar engine block it shouts 'Porsche'. I have been seeing that same look since my first Porsche and it is a big part of the overall Porsche experience.
It's hard to describe and I can imagine first time Porsche owners thinking 'what is he talking about' but I have had 911's for over 27 years now and have worked on all of them myself. The mezger is a 911 and a 911 is a mezger, it's as simple as that.
