Default 997.1 / 997.2 differences and where the 09' falls in between?

having owned a non turbo 997.1 and 997.2 i remember the changes that took place all in 09 for the NA car (interior, PCM, TPMS, Seats, Headlights, Taillights, LED's, Brakes on Base model, Suspension, and a few others)

on the 997TT, 07/08 were the same, but the 09 kept the metzger 3.6L and taillights but the interior was the .2 interior along with .2 PCM.

my questions are:

A: does the 09 have the 997.1 or 997.2 TPMS system (easy auto learning sensors)?

B: does the 09 have the 997.1 or 997.2 Side mirrors (hard to tell from pics if larger .2 mirrors)

C: are their any transmission/gearing/etc changes on the 09, or the ratio change/etc only took place on the 10's?

D: any other changes on the 09 versus the 07/08 models?

the 09 was surely a confusing model, we all thought the metzger engine was there to stay and then 10' brought us pdk and 3.8L DFI!... so i'm just curious on where to place the 09 in the scales...

thank you.

A: I believe the TPMS was already modified for MY08
B: 997.1
C: No changes, same as 07, 08
D: No, nothing visible. Changes have taken place between 07->08->09.
But this is something Porsche has always done. To see what I mean you would have to download the pet file and start comparing part nrs.

BTW , 997.2 interior is the same , the only difference is PCM3.
And MY09 turbo allowed you to order ventilated seats.

Happy with my '09 and the decision I made to buy it back then, never wanted to be a guinea pig on a new engine, and since the '09 was the last of the old block for the turbo, and it had all the features of the newer model I wanted (PCM 3.0, ventilated and heated seats, etc)...it was a no-brainer.

Still happy, and nothing from PAG has turned my head yet (well, the RS 4.0 did when I saw it, but...)

so you're saying the 08 has the updated TPMS that auto learn? this is important to me as i HATED my TPMS on 997.1 Cab, but the .2 was amazing.

i know they make changes often but i bumped from my 05 to 09 back in day because i really enjoyed the interior... besides the PCM 3.0 they did change the AC controls and some other things which i preferred.

does the vehicle need a re-program to run the aftermarket LED lights? i know on aston vantage it needs a program because the LED's have less resistance and would always read as a taillight out.

If you're referring to aftermarket LED taillights.... it depends.

I have the Dectane tails and it's just a plug and play conversion (about $800). There are other LED tails (Rotec comes to mind) that are probably plug and play too. There is another new one just out from some audio shop in CA that requires an adapter of some sort I believe.

However, if you plan on converting to OEM LED 997.2 tails (with a new rear bumper), they require an adapter. I know one is available from FVD for something like $5-700. Suncoast sells the whole 997.2 rear turbo bumper and LED's/adapter for like $3k.

I have Dectane LED on my 09 TT cab, simple swap, no error codes, looks much much better than OE.
TPMS is auto learn on 09.
09 PCM is same as .2.
Great car to own and drive....not a fan of PDK for the street.
Need an aftermarket exhaust to hear the rumble...OE too quiet "yawn"
if you want to see photos of LED, Exhaust PM your email

See print screen of pet file below , this pet is for 07-09 turbo. So definitely 08 and 09 turbo have same TPMS, do not know if Carrera '09 has again a modified system.

Yes , the complete center controls were new for '09 but most just refer to this as PCM3.
