Same car anyway other than the behind the curve iphone plug in. My Toyota Prius has bluetooth audio no cable. Always wondered why Porsche is always five years behind on electronics?

Been a lurking for some time now and am now ready to move from my current vehicle (RS4), into a 997TT. I plan to drive the Porsche year round, which includes our awesome CDN winters!
Other than the going from 4 doors to 2, and from N/A to a turbo what other differences should I expect?

Speaking from experience...there is absolutely no comparison between an rs4 or 997tt. Don't get me wrong, the rs4 is a fantastic car, however the 997tt in terms of capabilities, engineering, and finish is on a completely different planet in every conceivable way as you will soon find out. Enjoy.![Cheers](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/beerchug.gif)

What is wrong with RS4 engineering?
You live in a Porsche fan-world, ruf01. It is not a deficiency, I also live in 997-dream-world (and I love my Turbo), but at least I try to keep my feet on the ground. The only real advantage of 997T is the one-of-a-kind steering (relative to car mass, of course, as Turbo understeers despite low nose), due to one-of-a-kind engine placement and corresponding weight distribution. The rest (acceleration, simple but functional interior, engineering, noise, lack of storage space, high weight, etc.) you can get in other, cheaper cars. In terms of design and looks, well, that is highly subjective. I love the wide-body 997 design. I've seen 991 4S and I did not like the looks, it does not look as wide as 997, probably because of much wider front track (it is now wider than rear track, in fact). There are some people who kind of hate 911 design, though.
Of course, there is that 3.6L engine, a relative of GT1 engine, Hans Mezger 964 bottom and everything. I am sure it is great, but again, let's not make an elephant out of a fly, shall we? Advantage of 3.6L is lack of direct injection (no gunk on valves), ability to take high output loads (if you have significant cash for tuning to these levels, that is) and the fact that you can unscrew it to smallest details, but there are disadvantages to it as well - costly to repair, hidden problems that Porsche did not acknowledge (the cooling pipe connection, for instance).

Completely different cars. You will never look back. The TT is the PERFECT daily driver. Beautiful build, fit and finished. 07 - 09 have the much heralded Mezger GT1 engine, replete with time chain rattles and oh so awesome free-revving acceleration. Can't get enough... Welcome.

This is the first car in which I have to slow down in front of obstacles due to fear of destroying the front apron. I even scratched the rear bottom coming out of gas station. In this car I have to drive diagonally over obstacles which in other cars you do not even THINK about, not to mention slow down. 997T appeals to me (otherwise I would not have bought it) but it is definitely not a perfect DD. But I am not bashing, I am just stating the fact. This site is very biased towards "997T is the best car in the world in all respects". ;-)
