A friend of mine just picked up a TTS. Visually not much difference, unless you are a Porsche-aholic. Launch control is crazy for accel. But somehow I just don't get this type of a car without 3 pedals. It just seems to lose the attachment, a S550 is plenty fast off the line for most, but there is more to it for me in a TT. I can just imagine a TTS with a manual tranny. Hope it's in the cards for the next generation of TTS.

The Turbo S was a bunch of options bundled together that would have been more expensive if purchased a-la-carte in a normal Turbo. The S may have also picked up a slightly hotter ECU and some more aggressive transmission software.
On a standard turbo you could add PDK (transmission, PCCB (carbon ceramic brakes), limited slip and sport chrono with the dynamic engine mounts (all standard on the S), but you DON'T get the extra hp with sport chrono, only the torque in limited doses.

Haven't been able to confirm 100% but I think the turbo s has throatier exhaust.

If you MUST have manual box then no "S", otherwise write out the check and enjoy it. Secondhand values will reflect the premium paid

options meant nothing to me, I just wanted the higher output, I didn't realize we could: tune it or something? for more power? 480 is pretty good..

fortunatly the car was well equipped......even has leather defroster option hehe, I wouldn't have gotten that had I configured the thing...but it is a really nice touch....
one other thing: I had a Targa with the crest emblems on the head of the seat......and that
was damn cool.......something my TT is without....
