Nick,
how old are your children ? do they drive on your 997 TT?
I have a 11 month old son and I he does not fit into the 997 TT, trolley, bags,......too small to be a baby commuter. Just want to know how you make them fit

I had a Smart for a few years when they first came to the US. It was not well suited for our roads. I then had a Fiat 500 Prima Edizione for about a year, no power and could barely keep up with traffic so I ordered an Abarth. My car was delivered to me about 3 months ago and I love it. I have a few old 500/600's so its a natural progression...

Lol JD I just saw we have the same cars. 911 and an abarth.
Here are some more pics

twinturbom3 my kids are older... 15, 13 and 10... The older they get hte less the crap you need to take with you, so its perfect. Unfortunately, with 3 kids, and this old, the 911 is not for Sunday lunch even, unless the wife takes a cab. I can tell you she wont appreciate the proposal!! I have moved form large SUVs to I am thinking a B Class recently, as space is not an issue any more...

Are they quick? Do the turbo's make a diff. I drove a regular one in Atlanta Ga. on bussines and loved it!

Yes quick enough for what it is. 135 hp forced induction... As much as I have resisted a tune for the TT, this one is getting one... 165hp and 20nm more torque.

I've been driving the Abarth as a DD for over a week now (dropped off my DD X5 in anticipation of inbound 740i). It's a really fun car but its obnoxiously loud. Magnetti Marellii makes a tuning kit that's good for 25-40hp...

Seen this MM product. I think I am leaning towards a remap rather than a piggy back box...
thanks for the info JD

I installed the MM piggyback ecu and gas pedal computer. It took about half an hour and is easily reversible. Power gains are significant. The kit that I used comes with a small remote control to change the tune on the go. 0 = stock, 1 = performance and 2 = race. I'd recommend this to other Abarth owners instead of flashing the ECU which requires a reflash to stock at a later date...

That is interesting JD. I was contemplating going with a flash actually. It's cheaper and reversing it is not an issue for me as warranty is up within months... Plus I think a custom file should address more parameters than a piggyback... Also the remote seems like an added gimmick. Would you use the middle position ever?

What about the power pedal that seems something of great interest considering the throttle response...

Thanks for the report, will post mine once I decide what to do!!

You can feel a definite difference between each setting. I like #2 the best so far because its not too much. The padal feel is much better. I thought the same thing about the remote but its nice to be able to add or subtract power...

Did my first mod to the Abarth today...20 mins.
Cat Sneeze, or the blow off valve mod.
The little turbo is set to blow off in the airbox, via a tube. Cap the tube on one end, and install a 25mm BMC cone filter on the valve, and Psssshhhhht...
Funny.
Here are the visual aids.

20mm elastic cap from hardware shop, stretched over the tube to prevent stuff going into the airbox, and BMC 25mm filter from ebay. Needle nose pliers to take out the collars, and 7mm ratchet to tighten the collar of the BMC.
