Default oil pressure

Whats the proper pressure? Seems like its always at the top end of the guage at 5 even when just cruising. I dont recall my 09c2s being this high.

idle: 1.5-2
Under load: 4.5-5 (even when cruising)

you can see how quickly it builds the pressure, just rev it in neutral to 3000 rpm and you'll see it pop quickly to 4

Yes, cruising at low rpm's and you'll see 5. Normal.

Did you surrender to the turbo call ? If so we need an intro and pictures

well the books says something like: "4.5 Bar at 5000 rpm." I was at 5 bar at 3000 rpm.

i see. so the Pressure guage is worthless? Optically i never like seeing a guage at its upper end, the speedo being the exception

You should not be interested in 'too much' but 'too little', therefore the gauge is doing what it is supposed to do and when you have 'too little' you'll be able to see it right away.

It does have value in the extreme, for example if the oil pressure is below 1 or over 2 while idling you may have a problem. if it is below 4 under load you may also have a problem.

997.1 book - With the engine warmed up and running at a speed
of 5000 rpm, the engine oil pressure should be
approx. 3.5 bar.

997.2 book - The oil pressure is controlled as required and
should be at least 3.5 bar at an engine speed of
5000 rpm.
The engine oil pressure varies depending on the
engine speed, engine load and engine temperature.

The pressures you're seeing are normal.
