Default Opinions on if I should or should not purchase

Im seriously looking at a 2007 turbo that had a minor accident front left corner confirmed by car fax. Ive also confirmed it as minor with photos. The car is approaching 60K miles. The repair looks excellent and the car is in excellent condition. It had a water leak that was fixed by recently fixed Porsche...the engine was removed to properly fix the leak. Other small issues were also taken car of to the tune of $4000.
The purchase price is around $50K. Would you consider this car???

It seems price is right for condition, if your not bothered with past impact than I see no reason why you would not consider this car.

Posts some pics of the car. Seems like a fair price for the miles and condition.

If you are going to drive it less than 5 years, you will take a hit.

I it was a 5 year old econowagon, ok, but people expect more in a Porsche. The market is very thin for damaged cars.

Terry I agree but I thought most of the "hit" was obsorbed by the previous owner if I purchase at $50K...do you think its worth less?

Price is ok, but just saying the market may be thin even at that price if you have to resell it sooner.

I disagree- that's a great price. You'll be fine at $50k in that car. Thin market? maybe for WASP but there is a guy named Patel that will buy that car in a heartbeat.

Just hit a tire on the hwy in my turbo- done right by my custom shop who is also a preferred State Farm.

That price is right as rain--- coming on a forum is a bad idea.. Asking an opinion is asking someone to make a decision for you be careful.

Mine has 35k / tuned ($? i don't care to keep track) & you can have it for $80k. Seems like $50k is a good deal.

Resale is always tough with an accident history, however, 50k is a steal if it's minor.

$50k for a 5 year old $150k car? If you like it buy it. Somebody's eaten the 'had a previous accident’ factor BIG TIME. Try and find out what the total repair costs were. Maybe there are other factors to consider too but it sounds like a deal. Get your PPI and DME performed etc... At 50k you'll be able to sell it in the future with very little loss.

For pics, don't use the 'Inset Link' button, hit 'Go Advanced' and use the ’Manage Attachemens' paper clip button.

You can also copy a URL from the dealer and paste it into this thread.

Looking forward to seeing what you are looking at.

The car is going to need the 60 mile service, brakes, tires and i would assume shocks.

Damn 3-series can run you $50k - M3 near $70k. The new turbo is still a good ways off plus it'll take time to get the new one into the market meaning you've got a lot of damn car for $50k.

If your worried about maintenance - geez - are we really discussing replacing wear items as negatives? yes- you have to replace things from time to time!

the pics look good form what you've posted. the seats look a bit worn but that's to be expected for a 60K mile car. I can't see where the repairs were done and if the paint work looks good in person then it shouldn't matter much.

As someone else posted, make sure you get a full PPI and DME read out, if it passes with NO mechanical issues (other than normal required service) and the DME is clean of 4-6 over revs then for the price you are getting a good deal at $50K for a super car. Just for reference I just paid $75K for an 07 Turbo with 25K miles and no accidents. So you are getting a healthy discount for 30K more miles and, as you described, a minor accident

good luck with your decision

this. if the car checks out $50k seems fair. Also see if you can find the body shop that did the repairs.
