Default R8 V10 vs Turbo

Just wondering from turbo guys what they've thought of the R8 V10. I haven't driven one- when the 4.2 dropped I blew through the gears and thought it was way to slow for $135k vs a new Turbo.

Jump forward 4 years- I had a buddy asking about R8 and I suggested he only buy a 5.2.. found one I liked and now am wondering what others experiences have been with the V10 if any.

>Insert> if your going to say what gen etc. to me a 997 turbo are all the same 2 me with different trans etc. in end - rear engined- awd - porsche. mine is FVD tuned stage 2 550.

I'm going to look at Manheim numbers on R8, but this one I found off my cuff looks pretty sweet imo.

to be more precise I was looking for ownership experience / what it's like to drive a lot/ commute/ road trips.

Honestly, I love my Turbo. It fits all the aspects I like nicely- storage/ space inside/ mpg on road trips is nice. reliability etc.

cheers!

Last year on the track I stayed with a modified twin turbo R8 with 800 hp in my 500 hp AMG Black Series. Beautiful car but I wasn't too impressed with its track legs and handling which BTW could have been the driver and not the cars fault.
