So I have this incredibly beautiful natural brown interior.
Love it and would not change a thing... except maybe the steering wheel.
On the 993 full tan interiors benefit from a black steering wheel.
Does it improve my interior or not ? Please note that the black one is a bad photoshop attempt so keep this in mind when voting.

I started thinking about this when I saw a for sale add for a new turbo with brown interior and black alcantara steering wheel. For good measure I add that picture here as well.

Looking forward to the result

That is not black in the alcantara pic its grey... and it does come with black PCM too...
Nay for me Denis, big Nay.
There are some gorgeous wheel makes out there, in the US as well as Germany that do wonders. And although I do like the .2 wheel, I wouldnt pay for it, as I need the airbag too. I would go custom...

I am sure you know DCT and I have come across a German guy who speaks very good english and does some nice wheels as well. He is a bit on the expensive side, no core exchange, but VAT included and no problem shipping either... I think Eur820 all inclusive or so (your airbag anyway). And the stitching as well as your belts need to become yellow. I would do a yellow ring on the leather at 12;00 o'clock as well...

Much cheaper solution is to thicken the existing one, with more leather. Can do that for less than 300 I assume... And the sports wheel that you have has some curves to it anyway...

The black wheel looks bad since there isn't anything else inside that's black. I would leave it along. Just sayin..

Thanks Bob.
As for no black bits. The steering column is black plastic, the roof lining is black alcantara, seat belts and some trim, all black. But have to agree with you. The overall feel is of a 'no black inside' interior and after doing my photoshop I quickly realized the black is not going to make an improvement like it does on a 993.

I tend to agree with the overall sentiment to leave the steering wheel stock.
However, looking from this angle I see a big black plastic part that is also stock.
At the moment I am 70/30 in favor of just doing nothing.

Might do like this but opposite, steering wheel black, airbag brown. Need more time to think about it.:

It would look great if, like the 993, the dash was also black.

word the steering case isn't really noticeable.. I'd prefer if anything to cover the column in leather- probably a big waste of $$ to try and duplicate factory options. If it was a 2-tone dash I'd be in favor. However, the solid interior... mate you need to let perfection be perfect

German Saint your posts make me laugh !
Chris, yes a lot of dashboard parts are black on a tan interior 993.

If and when I'll make a change I'll post it here, thanks everyone for your opinions !! Appreciate the feedback.

The german maker is the one you found on ebay. His name is Rene Wartenberg and you can reach him direct at rene.wartenberg@autoparts63.de. No affiliation of course, not even a client. I was just happy with our communication.

Good luck! and post pics as always.

Told ya so.

I think you are playing with this idea

Having said that, I would do all Natural brown, no perforation (as it keeps dirt in the holes) no carbon at the bottom, but alcantara at the top with a yellow ring, and yellow stitching. So it would be a two tone, grey on top, nat brown all around (top being that separately stitched part with no holes in the pic below).
This style
