Honestly , I keep forgetting there are 997 turbo's with tiptronic.Good idea to get warranty for these. Read more and more stories of tip failure.

Turbo failure is not common so that is not a reason to get warranty imo.

I guess I need to re-state my opinion. If you are looking at a non 997.2TT that has a tiptronic and it is out of warranty, you should pony up and get a extended warranty. It will make you sick to shell out the cash for this gearbox.

And for those of you with tip boxes and no extended warranty possible, don't worry about it.
There are plenty of companies specialized in rebuilding auto tranny's from Mercedes. And in essence this is a Merc box.
