Just traded my 2009 997 Carrera S for a 2012 997 Turbo.....I will pick it up tomorrow morning........I have had a few Porsches but not a water cooled turbo . What can I expect compared to my present 997?

If you didn't do a test drive you will this weekend in your new baby. All I can say is, that it's the answer to all your dreams as a kid and an adult. Tell your wife she has now moved down to second place, but not by much. Just kidding. Don't do that you'll end up in divorce court. Break her in well and drive her hard, don't baby the break in. An absolute masterful piece of German engineering.

My first p car was a 05 CS, loved it until I drove my buddy's new then 07 tt and felt boost come on and just an overall heavier more stable feel. One 996tt S and one 996tt and now I am in a new 12 ttS. I kinda miss the nible feel of the steering in the S but everything else of the new ttS makes up for it. Enjoy in good health!

I went from an 07 c 2s to a 2012 tts. The first thing I noticed was the heavy steering. For the first few miles I felt like I was driving an SUV. It didn't take long to recalibrate, but it was a little disconcerting at first.

I got mine just around July 1st. What a blast. Took it to three driver's ed events. It was fun to be able to push the limits. It is so fast that you are speeding after a two second stab on the gas pedal much no matter what speed you are going. It is what your older car was except a whole lot more.

One thing that is different. In my old 911 everyone wanted to race and show what they could do. That doesn't happen nearly as much anymore.

I had a lot of reservations about getting the PDK. I must say I like it, and I am someone who was proud of my ability to run through the gears and heal toe on my downshifts. I have found that it is smoother to shift for myself and not leave it in full automatic mode especially tooling around town.

This past week I had to see a customer about 7 hours away by car. Instead of flying which would have been much more efficient, I took the tts.

The first thing you will notice is there will be an imaginary string connected from your right foot to your mouth. When you push the accelerator you will get an instant grin.

Default WOW

Just got back with my turbo. Unbelievable machine......I have not pushed it too hard because of break in period but what I have experienced so far is amazing. My 997.2 that I traded had PDK as does the new turbo and I really like it.......I have an old ACL injury in my left knee so I am much more comfortable with PDK. My car is white with all leather black interior with sport chrono.
Thanks for all the comments....
I will hopefully get some pics posted tomorrow .......

Default Upgrade from a C2S to a TT question...

Well, I seem destined for this thread. This morning I parked my 06 997.1 C2S coupe and test drove an 08 TT silver over natural red cab. I loved it from the minute I cranked it over and heard the engine come to life like some beautiful jet engine. And driving? Incredible. I loved it. We had to top down despite the cold had a blast. My C2S felt somewhat, uh..., inadequate on return to him.
Question to all of you: any regrets on your decision to upgrade? Anything to pay attention to on the car? It's been well serviced, just had a major service etc...
TIA.

Still incredibly happy 2.8 years after going from my 05 997S to my so far flawless 09 TT. No regrets at all.

Punch the go pedal with your right foot and your sphincter muscle will reappear.

It's a thrill ride - easy GT Cruiser around town when you want it, beast when you punch it. Drive safe.
