Question: What is the best way to "launch" my 07 TT with sport pkg and ceramic brakes. I have been told that to get the most in acceleration hold the car back on the brake pedal and rev up to 4k rpm then floor it. ths is hard to do with the automatic...ideas?

I don't know if the stock stall of the converter will let you brake-stall it to 4K. The best way is to load the converter as you stated. Hold the brake pedel and start to apply a little throttle just to the point of before the car creeps forward and then release the brake and floor the throttle at the same time. The higher the stall the more you can preload and bring the rpms up which will put you in the power faster.

We do this with autos at the drag strip.

Doc,nice car.Hope to move up sometime also to a TT.
There was an article on the 2007 at
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...o/viewall.html
In the last few paragraphs they wrote:
As per Porsche's instructions, our Chrono-version's Sport button was pushed.
John's left foot had held the car stationary as prescribed, his right foot mashing the throttle to build boost until the left pedal lifted. The unleashed 501 pound-feet of torque had momentarily wound the car to 1.2 g of acceleration. If you felt a tremor at about 2:20 Pacific time on this particular day in March, well, that was us, at night, deep in a Bavarian forest.

There are a few guys out there drag racing them wondered also how high the rpm can be held on a launch on a Tip as they don't mention rpm

Seen Camdons video he drags and has a Tip maybe he,Alex or someone can say what rpm he holds the car at the line

Thank you for the reply and you are right, I can't get the rpm's to 4k or I am afraid I will brake something. Even at 2500 it produces quite an impressive launch.
