Chris, have u considered the idea of owning a classic air-cooled 911 ? The '80's carrera are truly special cars (yeh I am biased) and there is a stunning '84 carrera listed in the member to member for sale section.

The real question is do you get $40-50K more car than the one you already have? Sure new car, touch screen nav, blutooth, dynamic engine mounts etc but the depreciation clock starts again....... My 2007 just passed 18K miles is quicker than a new out of the box 2011 TT, still has new car smell and still allows me to exercise my left leg

My ttcab has 30k miles...made the mistake of driving a tts today!!! Holy crap the car is simply outrageous and the launch control(OMG). It is the first time on 4 wheels I felt a little queasy.

49K on mine and the only one showing age is me.

If you did not do so already, a change of shocks can make a difference.

Tom (T2) has 250,000 + miles on his 03 996 X50 Turbo ... age appears to be irrelevant to these cars/engines

What does major mod include. Here is an idea of speed on "light" modded .1tt with 6spd http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oweuZDW_Uls

Mag figures for stock Turbo S (530 ps):

0-60 mph 2.9s
0-100 mph 6.6s
0-120 mph 9.5s
0-130 mph 11.5s
0-160 mph 18.5s

So 60-120 mph = 6.6 secs

Mag figures for my Stage II Cargraphic 997.1 Turbo (544 ps):

0-100 km/h: 3.3 secs (60 mph)
0-160 km/h: 6.8 secs (100 mph)
0-200 km/h: 10.4 secs (120 mph)

So 60-120 mph = 7.1 secs

ie. I'd say the Turbo S is in most situations quicker, but with the extra hp and torque mine would certainly get up to 300 kph much quicker.

This is getting even me thinking now!! Ruby red Turbo S with aerokit - hmmmm...
