When I ordered my car, the dealership was hesitant on the colour because they were afraid I would bail at the last minute and they'd be stuck with a red car on the lot. However, in 2010, Porsche used a GR GT3 for the promo which has increased the exposure of GR to the next generation of Porsche owners. Suddenly, GR is cool again and I get calls all the time from people looking to buy a GR car.

It's nice to see people ordering some of the brighter colors FINALLY in the 997 model. Sadly, there is a significant over production of black and silver. There are VERY conservative buyers out there today.

Guard's red is an awful color for Porsches. It is flat and depthless, and visually robs the car of it's musculature and subtle curves and contours - totally removes the aesthetic nuances. Also tacky and passe. Arctic silver is best for showing the car's physique.

I disagree completely with GR robbing the car of its curves....

Really..........Wow
Some say....... Silver isn't really a colour; Some say.... if all cars were Silver we wouldn't need colour TV's; Some say..... Ferrari would probably disagree with you just a wee bit as well
The beauty of the car culture everybody has the ability to express their taste by what they drive.

best color for the 911 hands down. Why get an exciting sports car in a boring color?

Just sold my Guards Red 07 Turbo, and when it's time to buy an 09' I'll likely be looking exclusively for Guards Red. I think it is stunning, especially on the wide body cars. Park a GR Turbo next to a silver Turbo and you won't even know one of the cars is there...

I love Guards Red on Porsche's! One of the very best colors on these cars in my opinion.

The only real downside to guards red is it does attract a lot more law enforcement attention. Just my opinion based on 14 years experience with a GR Porsche and 9 years with a Black Porsche.

Obvious answer is, Ferrari owns red.
I'd love to have a GR car with dark wheels though. Need to think of the (usually yellow!) calipers too. Sharp.
