I agree, paint them and then clear bra. Looks great on a GT Silver Car. My wife just gave me this one for Xmas today.

After seeing all of the skirts painted on these cars, I have to do it. The look is so much more aggressive and deserving of the car. I'll take my 07 TT Coupe down to my local body shop so that they can quote me. If it's reasonable, I'll do it after I take delivery, if not I'll change my order and have the factory do it.

Thanks for all of the pics and suggestions.

I'm paying $500 CAD plus tax from a luxury car body shop. Much better than paying $2600 for that option.

I definitely say 'yes' to painting them. My '07TT is Basalt Black so I don't really think it would change the look all that much. On Silver, it's a must.

Definitely yes; small amount for big appearance. I would be hard pressed to get that job done after the fact for much less $$.

I had mine painted all around, but I have a lift kit.

I also had Premier wrap the lowers all around, as well as other places. The rockers get chewed up pretty good as it flares out at the rear. I think that wrapping painted lower panels is a must.

Here are before and after pictures (Arctic Silver):

Of course, leaving the front at least, unpainted, is the most practical thing to do.

I wonder how long the side skirt will keep their paint before they get chipped ?
Usually painted side skirt have some kind of 'mud flap' styling behind the front wheels so they block a bit the rocks. The current underside of the car doesn't have this design..

Sure looks 10 times better for how long...

How do you find someone who "knows how to do it"?

For sure on Silver. makes the color just pop! And painted Seat backs for that matter also!

My car is Midnight Blue, I am about to order the GT2 Skirts but I kinda like the look of the dark gray lower on the Dark cars.

Thanks. My wheels are 19" HRE C21's. They're fairly lightweight and I'm very happy with them.

I left mine unpainted being that out here in the hills of Litchfield Ct you have different undualtions where you will get an occasional scrape. So for me painting would have been counter productive. For a black basalt TT the trim blends in. I might have a different opinion if I had chosen a lighter color. Again it's a matter of preference and how often you forsee changing the front lip due to bad road conditions. I have to admit that the artic silver does look better with the painted lip and sills.

I believe I've seen pictures of the GT2 skirts in the unpainted version. I think it's the default spec.
