Who claims that Porsche is saving that much? They're just making that up.

Various threads show similar numbers, though of course nothing is factual. However, if they amortize the development costs across the entire 9A1 block models (all 911's), it surely is far less production cost than the GT1 block. Would have hoped to see SOME savings result in lower pricing, even if a small amount, in light of that and the crappy economy into which they hope to sell these monsters.

Maybe, but they've been "amortizing" the GT1 block for 20 years. So there might be a cost savings, but $25K? That sounds very very high.

15-20, not 25. I'd bet all of 15k easy in savings per.
