Question about Sat/MP3
In regards to options available for the 2007 model year, was Sat and/MP3 connectivity an additional option? What is Extended Nav?
I am looking at a car that has Nav, no 6 disk changer, and wondering if Denison or Sat Tv are the only options
Thanks

Not sure about Sat radio, but MP3/iPod connectivity was not available immediately. Porsche did create an OEM adapter using RF about 18 months later that you or a dealer could install.
Extended nav was an option in 07, became standard in 08.

Sat radio was NOT an option in 2007. I added it using NAV-TV via the aftermarket

It's fantastic actually...just like stock. You would never know it was aftermarket. Only problem was I had to have the shop fix it like 10 times! I think early on they were working out the bugs and I was one of the lucky ones they got to test on!
I got Sat radio, Ipod and tooki and they were fighting with each other and causing issues...then there was even a "cold weather" issue that needed a fix. But at this point all works flawlessly about 95% of the time. It's well worth it...just remember that it's not a stock item and will occasionally be a little annoying and you will feel better about it!
I can't remember what the whole set up cost...maybe $2K? But the dealer lost their shirt on the deal with all the times they needed to fix it. But their service was terrific.

I paid $1400 for a Sat radio kit from the Cayenne and installed it myself.

I had the XM kit from the Cayenne installed on my 08 along with the Dension unit. Here is a link to the write up for this work.

The whole system works very well.

If I had it to do over, I would have it professionally installed for around $300. The unit is plug and play, but I had to remove the WS cowl to install the antenna, and drill through the firewall. Later, an installer told me there is a grometted hole behind the battery.
A better way to install the antenna would be under the carpet cutout on the rear parcel shelf.

Yes, but someone let the cat out of the bag in this thread:
https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...c4s-cab-2.html
The H/W is identical and the S/W is 95% identical between the Carrera/Boxster and Cayenne platforms.
FWIW, PCNA and PAG were a bit perplexed when this thread came out and all of a sudden Carreras had OEM Sat Radio installs, even though they hadn't released it yet....I'm just impatient.

There are 2 other alternatives (besides the aforementioned NAV-TV) to get audio (SAT, iPod, MP3, Bluetooth) onto the MOST ring in your car:
Dension (contact Eric at Bumperplugs, RL member and sponsor)
or
mOBridge (very popular in the Cayenne forum), guys from Australia are quite competent IMHO.

lic265,
I purchased the xm kit from Sunset Imports for $633.94. Part number for the kit is 955-044-902-67. The system works perfect. In order to have iPod, I went with the Dension unit from Eric at Bumperplugs. Overall, I am very happy with install.
