Default Problems with my battery maintainer

I have a Griot's battery maintainer which works well on my other three cars, but when I try to hook it up to the turbo's battery, the "Charging" light will not come on.

I put the positive end of the maintainer to the positive pole of the battery and the negative end to the battery bracket (not to the battery itself). Is there a different place you guys use to connect the negative caliper?

Not sure if the Griot's maintainer has the quick disconnect, but here's what I use with my Battery Tender - I leave the quick disconnect attached to the battery and just plug the maintainer into it when needed. Always works.

Sorry you are having the problem. If you can't get it working, the Porsche techquipment maintainer that plugs into the cigarette lighter has been very dependable for me.

So I was using a black and decker battery trickle charger, but it broke.
S o I"m going to buy a new one, I wanted to know what youre guys experience has been with either the Porshce OEM Charge0Mat II (the new one) or the CTEK 7000 that I've seen posted. Specifically, I want to know if either of these actually will (slowly) charge a battery.
Thanks,
A

I had the Porsche maintainer fail so I went down to Sears and bought their maintainer. It was about half the price and has worked for years without a problem. It comes with either a cigarette lighter fitting or with clamps for the battery terminals.
