OldGuy, I remember reading it awhile back before we had kids, maybe 5 or 6 years ago. It was a hilarious thread. Maybe you can provide a link.
Last "Sports" car I owned was a 1987 928 S4 5 spd, drove it for 3 yrs and sold it for more money than I paid. Loved that feeling and am trying to replicate it with 997TT, but I doubt it. But, it'll be cheaper than riding a Nissan GTR depreciation slope for sure. Owned a Cayenne S and now Turbo so this is the 2nd turbo in the stable, got the bug bad 8 months ago, then the nice recession just pushed my "in" date early.
FWIW, 997GT3 were holding their value well. I almost did a 1K mile white, fully opt, GT3 w/o PCCB with clean history for $96K, but the deal went to pot when Porsche Leasing would not release the first leassee, then I'd have to do the CPO ($3K) and lease thru porsche ($2K convenience fee (whatever that means)), and $100K for me at least is a weird threshold for a toy when I got 2 kids and people are starving in Sudan (shrug).
Anyway I stand by the stmt, the sellers are delusional on 997TT prices. I think they are holding out for a "spring" bump, just like some underwater home sellers. It ain't gonna happen.
Nice way to step up to the plate gxcross, a 997TT! It's been my dream car since the 993TT, but I was too young and poor and the 996TT just was too ugly for me (although a great value at some realistic prices nowadays), but the 997TT is just a BEAST on the road. I was almost afraid of it in the test drive, please drive it in good health and watch out for the little ones... my son tends to be jumpy getting out of the car.
