Amazingly...never been pulled over in the Pcar...the Lexus...I get tickets all the time!

Setting the PCM speed alert "pings" really help!

I did the same thing...had a 996 Cab...drove a 996TT...next thing you know...I have a 997TT...it's so much of an improvement (to me at least)...you would never regret it.

I keep rationalizing the purchase in my head and playing out how I convince my wife....Sometimes it's easy to lose prospective on these matters of automobiles you know !!

You need a good radar detector my friend...I suggest the V-1, never leave home without it in any car

Hey Bob I'm looking at getting a Turbo next year myself. My sales rep told me that the new Turbos with direct fuel injection should be coming out for order by fall of 2009. I'm already looking at colors and starting to dream again. Haven't test drove one yet because I knew if I did it could be trouble for the ole wallet. Good luck on the TT hunt.

To paraphrase Yoda: "There is no 'rationalize', there is only 'do.'"

Its nice knowing you have the power behind you if you need it.

when we go visiting or to the store it feels like a N/A 911 but when you need the power, watch out.

We have some nice east to west roads in Fl where there is virutally no speed enforcement.

Its great take out on fun runs with 10 other P cars.

The most fun thing with this car to me is on a single lane road with a 65 MPH speed limit and you want to pass someone going 60 and there isnt much time to do it. Downshift into 4th, press down the petal and HOLD on.. Gets to 100 + in no time flat. I like it when the Benz or GT Mustang or Rice Burner in front of you accelerates when he sees you starting to pass and you just pass him like your being catapulted off an aircraft carrier!!! fun stuff for me.

I love this turbo. I wil consider the PDK tt when it comes out in 2010. I ll have to drive it and see how it feels.

Get a full upgrade to the bigger variable vane turbos, bigger intercoolers, ecu flash, better steel brakes (i.e., AP racing) and better suspension, and the car is incredible!

It is very docile around town, and then punch the sport button and squeeze the throttle and whooooosh....It is like flying a jet on the ground.

It is great for nuts like me

i just tried a 997.2 S, and was utterly blown away on track.

yes the 997TT thrust is absolutely addictive, and if of course if you spend most of your time on the road, then by all means get a TT if it suits your budget.

but there's really some magic about a RWD NA 911 that is lost in the transition to turbo (lag) and AWD (dulled steering, feeling of "heaviness" somehow).

if you spend a lot of time on track, or on very challenging roads... there's nothing wrong--and in fact a lot that's RIGHT-- with a new Carrera S. amazing machine.

Easy fix!! Just take the Turbo down to a tuner and then no more lag and perfect handling. In fact I just took my Turbo back to my suspension tuner and said I didn't like how light the steering was, so now it's more road and less track biased.

Personally, my ideal road cars are all 4wd and Turbo charged.
