2009 turbo cab discount
I have been shopping the last 2 days for a 2009 turbo cab and with as bad as the economy is felt I would get a great price since I see a dealer makes about 22 to 23 thousand on the car with options[from edmunds] but the best I got was 10 off do you guys think that is good or should I try for a better price.I want to be fair as everybody needs to make a living.I was also looking at gallardo spyder but dont feel comfortable spending that much money or the image it gives in these times but the discounts were unbelievable[60 to 70k off].Any input would be appreciated

Depends on many factors.
1) what part of the world are you in? Colder might be better this time of year.
2) dealer gets only a few allocated for '09, was this on the lot or are you ordering?
3) any relationship with selling dealer, other cars bought, etc?
Margins are sweet on the Turbo cab, no question, but many dealers I know are more likely to give incentives on non Turbos and other models before they'd let the cat go on a Turbo.
Not to say there aren't deals around, but the dealers I know of have so few TT Cabs, they seem to think they'll sell at some point, and won't offer as much of a discount on this particular model.

i was trying to find a leftover 08 before i bought my 09 coupe-i only found a couple leftover 08 coupes-i did see quite a bit of 08 cabs-you might want to check the available inventory on porsche.com. i was only able to get about $6000 off on an 08 coupe-obviously i walked and purchased a new 09 coupe. i would imagine that being winter time, you could convince some dealer to sell you an 08 cab at their cost. certainly the $10000 that you are able to get off of an 09 cab is not a bad deal. the lambos are their own story-they have completely collapsed. certainly, they are beautiful cars, but they seem to be "stock broker or wall street"cars. i have never seen the market for a car collapse as badly as the lambo has. there are multiple horror stories about lambo owners who received unbelievably low trade in prices on their cars. not a great place to be

definitely- i believe that they made 3 turbo cabs for every one turbo coupe-there is no shortage of left over 08 turbo cabs around-i would think that with patience, you should be able to get 20 grand or so off of an 08 turbo cab left over. it is the perfect storm on turbo cabs (horrible economy, tons made and winter time, along with left overs around)

BTW, if you get 20 k off now don't be crying when you are getting offered 20 k back of book when you trade it in in a couple of years. Thats the sweet irony of exorbitant discounts. History repeats itself , once upon a time 928 's were 15-20 k back.
Falls right in line with our new messiah's message of "sharing the wealth".
