Default how to break in new car

Hello
My question is about break in procedures.
The manual suggests not going over 4250 rpm until 3ooo Km.
Do you really have to wait that long?
I am dying to just say to hell with this and let her rip!
At that rpm, it seems that the boost is just beginning.
Any suggestions?
I apologize if this seems like a naive question.

The staff in Stuttgart told me 600km when I did euro delivery. I took mine to the track at 800 miles.

There are as many different recommendations on break- in as there are posters here at Rennlist. Personally I followed the advice in the manual.

Think about how long you want to keep the car for, and whether there may be a down side to letting it rip on day 1. Also, think carefully about whether people who tell you to "break it in like you are going to drive it" know more about the car than the engineers who designed it.

So far for me, I am at 2950 km. No oil added. No problems. And, the car is a blast to drive even keeping it below 4300 rpm. Now I get to the next thrill of letting it out all the way, hitting the rev limiter etc.

I am working through my break in period too - have 800 more miles to go til I can set her free!!! Hurley Haywood told me at Birmingham that it is not necessary, as have others, but I plan to keep the car and the miles are going fast.

They break in F1 engines by running them all out on an engine stand, exhaust white hot. But then, they only last for 2 races.

remember all Porsche engines are run to max power 5-10 minutes on an engine dyno at the factory prior to install.

It's more than the engine you are breaking in.

nothing to worry about too much. just make sure the oil is warmed up and then drive her as you like. you might want to take it easy for the very first 200 miles just to break in the tires and seat the brakes.

from an engine standpoint, if warmed up nicely let her rip.

i have had six porsches from new and never had an issue after applying above method....
