I turn the key and hit PSM OFF before I even put it in first gear

I have owned many vettes & down deep always wanted a Turbo porshe but could never quite justify the price difference . I now regret waiting so long & wished I would of stepped up sooner. My only bitch is no sooner did I buy my 03 then the prices started dropping which was one of my pet peeves with corvette. I have owned the Porsche about a year & watched it's value drop almost twenty grand. I'm sure glad I bought it used & didn't lose a lot more.

not even close. performancewise, maybe. but i can't be the only person who believes the 997 turbo is the most perfect iteration of the 911's body design, can i? my heart skips a beat every time i see one of these driving around. fortunately, there's a guy in the area who's got a basalt black on black with the yellow brake calipers and tastefully tinted windows that i see every few weeks around town. it's a nice hit to maintain my buzz!

there's no car even close to as elegant, save for the new maz granturismo, and that thing's probably a bucket o' bolts, mechanical-build-quality-wise. no comparison.

I bought 2 new N/A P cars prior to this one, a 993 and a 996.

The day my car came in and I finally got to drive it I knew this was it.

I will never have a N/A P car again. Its still after a year an incredible car, the best car I ve ever owned.

It gives me so much confidence with its great massive power, esp on the highway. You can pass in 6th gear so easily,, from 75 to 130,, watch out, its fun..

cabman - I remember when you got your Turbo. It's good to hear you still love it so much. It's killing me to wait for the DFI update, but I think it'll be worth it in the long run. My wife made me promise no new cars in 2008...

Hi Chris,

great to hear from you.

Here is what the turbo did for me in a nutshell..

All my prior cars, vettes, mustang GTs, Rx-7, Camaros, Nissan Zs, 993 and my 996 were great cars BUT i was never 100% content with them.

I would go to a car show and come back feeling empty, wanting something better or faster or more exotic.

I went to a great gathering of cars yesterday in Orlando,, maybe 120+ cars, porsches, Lambos, F cars, Supras, GM stuff, Nissans, Lotus Esprits, ford GT Accuras and walked away not desiring another car.

The 997 TT has made me very happy with what I have. It has its own ambiance and is a great reliable car, I dont worry about getting stuck on the highway with it or anticipate huge repair or maintanence bills.

I have no yearning for another car,, this is a first for me!!

Good luck..

Cabman

check out the pics from yesterday.
