3hrs, simple hand tools, floor jack. I keep the bumper/ic's on to avoid creaks/squeeks later.
The system is modular so just swapping bypass pipes/cans alone is a 1-1.5hr job max, prolly less.

Speedart has got it
Our previous 996 C4S had the switchable factory sport exhaust. The switch is really nice. I like the Fabspeed gen 3 on my 997TT but the switchable system would be better.

Was your 996 a Speedart exhaust? How much louder was the street side ?10-20% perhaps over stock? And too, was it a remote switch over? I hear corvette has a remote exhaust switch on their '07 models. This beats trying to find a means of wire delivery from exhaust to dash.
