Speedart has a two way switch on their new exhaust. One for street driving and then change the switch and you get straight pipe sound. Sounds good to me, you get the best of two worlds. Price $5,5K.. .www.speedart.us

Save the Fabspeed - you and your neighbors will want a change after a while.

Yes, why not keep it, the system is modular, you can switch back and forth at will. Bypass pipes are rediculous on the street. You'll grow tired of that very quickly.

Chris, how hard is it to swap the exhaust back and forth like you do?

3hrs, simple hand tools, floor jack. I keep the bumper/ic's on to avoid creaks/squeeks later.
The system is modular so just swapping bypass pipes/cans alone is a 1-1.5hr job max, prolly less.

Default Speedart has got it

Our previous 996 C4S had the switchable factory sport exhaust. The switch is really nice. I like the Fabspeed gen 3 on my 997TT but the switchable system would be better.

"turbojohn" you raised the bar higher my friend-thanks for the heads up.

Please post feedback after install!

Cheers

Hey, did you get a chance to hear the bypass exhaust yesterday?? And too, was it a Speedart and was the switch a remote one like corvette has??

Was your 996 a Speedart exhaust? How much louder was the street side ?10-20% perhaps over stock? And too, was it a remote switch over? I hear corvette has a remote exhaust switch on their '07 models. This beats trying to find a means of wire delivery from exhaust to dash.
