Default Winter Tires / Wheels for Turbo

Who is running what for winter wheels and tires on a 997 Turbo? Are there any 19" winter tires in this fitment, or is everyone getting a second set of 18" wheels and tires?

TR has them in 19's, that's what I'm running, but you can do 18's as well.

Tirerack has 19" Nokian WR in the right fitment. They are not on the website or the config tool -- you'll need to contact them. I have them mounted on a set of delivery-miles turbo take-offs that I picked up pretty cheap.

I have the Nokian 19" coming in one more time at the end of the month. Please give me a call to order.

i got 19" from the tire rack-they fit right on my original wheels-one of the popular brands (pirelli, dunlop, etc). used them all last winter, just put them on again a week ago-they did fine in the snow.

I would recommend 18" for snow tires/wheels for all the usual reasons (sidewall height, aspect ratio, potholes, etc).

actually-my tires are the 19" pirelli 240 snowsports. since I picked up my turbo last november, the dealer mounted them before I took delivery. tire rack shipped them right to the dealer. I just reuse mý wheels and change tires per the season.

I got a nice winter set up from Damon at Tire Rack for my C4S (which has the same dimensions and fitment as the turbo assuming non-PCCB).
I run the following 18" rubber in the off-season:
The wheels are Silver Mille Miglia 3 with Conti Winter Contact TS 810S (i.e. "Turbo Twist" knock-offs)
Front 18x8.5 235/40VR-18
Rear 18x10 265/40VR-18
The compound is great for driving in the winter and the performance capability is still fantastic - the car still corners shockingly well on the 40 mm reduced width rubber in back! The ride is a bit softer than the 19" stock rubber.
This season (i.e. tomorrow) I am going to change over my wheels and put a 32-mm spacer on the rear instead of the 22mm set up I ran last winter....I recommend the spacer for 1) better aesthetics so it doesn't look like you're running a spare and 2) I think it aligns the front and rear tracks better for winter driving.

Here are some links:

Feel free to PM me with any questions.
If you haven't done business with Damon at Tire Rack, I can definitely vouch for his credibility and excellent service.

Still have my stock turbo wheels if anyone is intersted. Mine's not a daily driver so I don't need to worry about snow
