A 2007 Z06 is more controllable, better handling,less prone to oversteer than a 2006 Z06.

I don't know what it's like in Guatemala, but in America there are wayyyyy too many Corvettes. A Porsche always gets me more excited than a Corvette. The Z06 is a great car though.... a hell of a deal.

Do they sell Vipers over there? If so grab the 2008 Viper. 600 plus HPs and 560ftlbs of torque . It will kill the Z06 and out brake it, out handle it. John Hennessey just recieved one and dynoed it..

The new 2008 Gen 4 motor continues to amaze us. Here are the details:

1. We put 150 miles on the car this weekend. So its a bit more broken in.
2. No addition mods have been made since we dyno'd 575 rw hp last week. That number was gotten with a bit of heat soak.
3. Today we dyno'd the car first thing in the morning. The ambient air temp at the time was 61 deg. F. Humidity was 32%
4. Made 3 pulls, first pull was 598/562, 2nd pull was 592/562 and the 3rd pull was 588/554. All runs were made back to back with no cool down and these numbers are uncorrected.
5. The 598/562 number SAE corrects to 585 rw hp and 550 rw tq.
6. Next thing we will test on the 2008 is a set of stainless steel long tube headers. My guys should have these fabricated and on the car later in the week.
7. I think the 2008 Viper is going to make over 600 rw hp with headers, exhaust and high flow cats.
8. yes we do have a video of the car on the dyno and will upload it as soon as we can. The car really sounds nice.

Just read your entire thread! A long read, but great perspective. Very few people will ever have the chance to experience one of these cars, much less compare them through ownership at the same time!

You are very fortunate. Thank you for the great read.

Nice write up, and I don't care what the critics say you write well and tell the story (even though my eyes hurt after reading your article).LOL

I had an 06 Z but not at the same time as my 997TT. I loved the Z but have more passion for the 997 due to german quality and performance tech. I was curious of side by side daily living with both.
Thanks.
