"Broke down" as in "could only complete one run". If your car could only complete one run and then started leaking oil, wouldn't you describe it as broken and try to repair it? Please be honest with us and with yourself.

Welcome Rufguy, as you can see, all of us here voted with our wallets and bought the "lesser" Porsche.

Hmmm... ok let's see.
Did the tuner Vette have a mechanical failure?...yes
Was it able to compete?......No
I would say it was broken down.

Another thing to consider, Ruf is manufacturer, not a tuner like Lingenfelter and Hennessey. I don't know why they included tuner cars in the test, should have limited it to manufacturers IMO.

Default Ramblings...

Our perspective has become slightly skewed when the "slowest" car only makes 650hp. Does seem odd that the tuner cars needed so much TLC. Wonder what the viper would do with street tires and no ice packs on the IC's...
I still have the 1st issue from back in the day when the yellow bird smoked em all in the R&T top speed shootout. Interestingly, while the RT12 has a higher top speed than the CTR, it's actually slower out of the hole and through the traps. Perhaps a super light-weight RT12 650 is in the werks?
Can anyone imagine getting to 60 in 2.8 seconds? Thats super bike territory.....
