Make sure it's unleaded, some race gas is leaded.

Good advise. Make sure you are not adding any type of race gas with lead in it. The highest unleadded race gas is 100 octane (at Sunaco). They sell octane as high as 118 (maybe more?) but we can't use the stuff.

With nascar using unleaded fuel now, and sunoco being the fuel provider, unleaded race fuel I believe is starting to become more and more accessible.

VP makes MS 109 RON unleaded (105 R+M/2) at about 11$/gallon. They also make MS 103 unleaded at 10$/gallon and I use either one sometimes to bump the crappy 91 to 95 or so.

I was just in Jackson Hole Wy and they have crappy gas up there too, 85 regular and 91 premium.
