Default Unpainted front spoiler and rear lip

I just wanted to get some opinions on the forum. I love the front spoiler painted, but realistically I'm going to destroy it driving around here. Which colors, if any, really "need" the front spoiler and rear apron painted? If the car is carrara white, will it look bad to have the skirts painted but the front and rear left black? Would painting just the skirts and rear apron look unbalanced?

I think it would look a little awkward if you only have the front and not the rear apron painted (or vice versa). White looks great without having the aprons painted IMHO. Just look at the white GT3 and you'll know what I mean.

I thought the white GT3 only had the front lip unpainted. I'll have to look again.

If you're gonna drive it at all, don't paint the lip.

I agree with most here - I just picked up my CW TT (wil post pics this weekend) w/o any of the lower panels painted and I like the uniform look. Doing just one piece would not look right. I also see ripping the thing off periodically and not having to get it painted saves time and I worry less.

The GT3 has only the sides done - front and back are black. I think any color benefits from having the sides done. have it filmed if you're concerned. The front is a personal decision. It will get scraped but only costs $200 or so. Mine is black and is scraped but it's only scraped on the bottom of the lip.

Here's a pic of a white with just the sides done. I think it looks great. the back area is so small and tough to see I don't think it will look unbalanced at all if you don't want to do that.

yeah, the work order says: "found code for low efficiency on down stream O2 sensors - cleared codes and reset engine adaptions"

I had also experienced some white smoke upon start up that morning and they said it's normal.

That might mean a cat problem, are yours 100 or 200? I know some of the early FS stuff was 100 cell.

This is correct. It's a matter of taste, but my vote is for light colored Turbo's, AT LEAST paint side and rear. The car looks unfinished otherwise, particularly the side view of the rear end. Although it's a (slight) compromise esthetically, better to leave front unpainted.

I had the same concerns so I fabricated these protective splitters out of 3/16" polyethylene sheet in my garage. They are fastened to the lip using #10 oval trim screws backed by #10-24 speednuts. I have taken the car at speed (>150mph) and it is very well fixed with no negative aero effects. I have a plastics shop now fabricating a bunch using a CNC router and will be offering them for interested owners. It will be offered for my production cost, which I estimate to be at $20-25 per corner max. I call them "CheapArt splitters." They can be mounted protruding like a splitter or flush like a skid plate. I would recommend mounting them slightly protruding to act as a "curb feeler."

I think these could be a nice compromise. I'll add it to my list of mods. BTW, where did you buy the floor tiles?

ask yourself which you can live with, a scratched up cw lip or the plain black lip. the painted replacement might get real old. eclou's solution might be a good compromise. I hve 1k on the car and the lip is in bad shape.
