Still agonizing over color – how about Baltic Blue?
#17
Y'all are right, Porsche's blue colors are fantastic. That's what makes it so hard. For me it's such a thin line between "that's too dark" and "that's too light"... I think Baltic is just right. I also have to consider that most of the time my car will be in bright sunlight.

Azzurro looks like this:
I think the car in the pic I posted may be the same. Not 100% sure, but they are very close.

Wolfgang,
I hope all of these pics aren't making you feel more blue,...crying blue hue hue.
I say go for the paint to sample over Basalt.

Wolfgang- definitely go with paint to sample.. less than 1% add'l cost for a truly unique turbo. I think Baltic would be sharp on a TT.
to further confuse, have you ever seen Slate Blue? (below).. it's another factory paint from 80's 911SC era ...would look incredible on 997, if I were doing paint to sample blue I would use this color... a bit more vibrant than Baltic, more muted than Cobalt...wish i had more pics.
Check www.pca.org, there is a huge volume of active classifieds on 'The Mart'.... maybe someone in LA or nearby Dallas has one of these colors on premises, gracing an older 911 to do a drive-by look.

I changed my order from Basalt to option 99 (paint-to-sample) today, which unfortunately will also lead to an additional delay.
Most likely I will go for the Baltic blue as seen in my first post, but I'm still considering other options. What confuses me is that I see different names and paint codes for apparently the same thing:
Baltic Blue - L37B
Dove Blue - L37B
Baltic Blue - LM5P
Dove Blue - LM5P
Baltic Blue - C7
Dove Blue - C7
My dealer is trying to help me figuring this out.
If I go with Baltic, I will probably go with the Stone Grey interior.
Thanks for all the feedback! I will keep you posted.

As shown in my PM to you, here is what my C7C7 Baltic Blue Metallic looks like:
Again, I believe the most correct color replication is in the 1st and 6th pictures as I'm a terrible photographer. In certain lights it does look a bit grey, and sometimes a bit purple (not as purple as the picture shows)
hope this helps.
ps. my sig pic is pretty accurate color wise also, just a bit dark.

But all you should need is L37B.
Here's the formula:

Well, I hate to torture everyone with my continuous story, but my dealer inquired about the specific production delay my special color would cause. They are estimating 5 months on top of my already long wait (currently it's a January/February built). Yikes! That would put me into Summer 2008, at which time it would have turned into a late model year car; I don't like that idea and think I might as well wait for the '09 model (DFI, PDK?), but that's a freaking YEAR from now! So I'm contemplating right now. Will give you updates as I'm moving through the process.

If it takes that long then it's probably not worth it. Although Baltic would look great, all the available colors look good in their own rite, you can't go wrong.

I wonder if I would be pushed to an '09 model if I ordered a paint-to-sample car for my April '08 allocation.

Gasman - I finally got to see meteor in person today - photos do not capture this color well at all. The car had the black/gray interior, adaptives, painted console and gear trim, front lip and rear apron painted. Very nice indeed.
