Default How long did it take you to break in your 997TT?

Mine is due anytime now and the break in is frustratingly too long... After waiting almost 4 months, it's going to be real hard to keep it below 4200 rpm, etc. With my M5, the break in was 1200 miles and I did it in a week. If I get my turbo in the next couple days, I have a beach trip and mountain vacation in the next 10 days and I'll make the family drive the SUV (Rover SC) with the dogs and I'll scoot along in my new car and rack up maybe 1,000 miles very quickly (which is all I plan for the break in). How long did it take you to do the break in?

Upon delivery I drove it 600 miles roundtrip to my HS reunion. Then, to the track at 800 miles. The guys at Stuttgart told me 600-900 km on my GT3

I live in LA and bought my car in Oregon.. It was an amazing drive and a fantastic way to quickly break Mr. Animal in...

I visited the factory last year and they have a steep, long hill in which the workers drive out of the shop to the holding area at full throttle. I watched this in amazement last year and I didn't see anybody stopping them. At the time, the first Turbo's were being produced. We also had a "Ride and Drive" session from the local dealer and all their mechanics said to ignore the break-in. Mine is about 2 weeks old and I am neither babing it nor running it flat out.

Six weeks and only 980 miles. It's driving me crazy! Between work and family there just hasn't been any time. Four years ago, it only took me a month to do the 2K mile break-in on the departed C4S.

Same story, too much work not enough play. mine is one month old with 600 + miles. No WOT or rpms over 5k, until 800 miles for me.
