Default New GT3RS wheels installed!

I initially had put on a set of wheels from the GT3. The front wheels were the same as the stock Turbo wheels but the rears had an offset of 68mm which were quite a bit more than the stock Turbo 51mm offset so I had to use 18mm spacers to compensate. I wasn't too happy with the initial look and the car didn't feel as "tight" around the corners as I'd have liked.

I came across a set of wheels from the GT3 RS which is a widebody just like the Turbo with wheels designed accordingly. These wheels had an offset of 51mm just as the Turbo wheels do so no more spacers would be needed. The car once feels as tight around the corners as when I first took delivery not to mention how good it looks!

No more spacers

Deep concave dish look

Vantage shot with the new wheels

The view that most folks see when I'm around

Very happy with the latest mods!

Looks great jason! Just got some bad news that it looks like champion will not do the RF67 in 19"

Chris, what happened? Thought you were all set to get those wheels in 19s. What are you going to go with now?

Interesting that the 'Turbo' emblem on the engine cover is black, not silver/chrome.
Is this the factory default?

IIRC, there were other finishes available on the 996TT:

Itc-he switched out the silver one recently for the black.

Jason, those wheels look unbelievable...now just paint the car black and you will have achieved perfection!

Yeah, i'm really bummed. got an e-mail from Dave at wheel enhancement which included renderings of the front 19". He told me that the rears have not been designed yet. Once they do that it will get sent to Japan for evaluation and testing. AT that point champion will decide if they will go into production. he said it's looking like 4-5 months if they even decide to make it. He was not confident.

Not sure what I'm going to do. The Kinesis F110 is nice but I'm really not a huge fan of polished, large lips. I was hell bent on having wheels shipped before I even pick the car up, but maybe I'll just stay stock for a while until I see something I really like.

Nothing wrong with the stock forged BBS wheels at all. But if you still want Champion wheels, wasn't there a group buy recently? Maybe you can still get in on it.
Stay far, far away from Kinesis. They were sold not long ago to some bling crap wheel company.

The GT3 wheels certainly look a lot better than the stock turbo wheels. I can understand the desire to have the correct offset and eliminate the spacers and longer bolts, but how do spacers cause a noticeable adverse affect on handling? Porsche uses 17 mm spacers on some wide body/wheel combos from the factory. Do you know something they don't?

My Cup car runs with OEM spacers in the rear (477.501.701 21mm). Never noticed any handling issues.

Where'd you get them?

BTW, that is great. Wish it was a factor option.

I know kinesis was sold, however the wheels are still made in the same factory as before. No change in quality.

I can't explain why I would feel any handling differences. Maybe its a placebo effect? But I could almost swear that the car handles much better without the spacers. It could also be because of the fact that I have less unsprung weight now.

I got these wheels from Wheel Enhancement but you might have better luck getting them from Gert @ carnewal.com.

Jason,
Do you have OE mufflers or CarGraphic.
