Default Stage III Is Here

Just drove home the car with:

1. FS Exhaust
2. FS Headers
3. GIAC ECU - 93 Octane/6500 Rev

My initial impressions are:

1. Car is MUCH smoother through the powerband (I was accustomed to lurching forward at times during acceleration....now just smooth, constant delivery of power.)

2. Lag is greatly reduced (almost completely diminished)

3. Exhaust is throatier. I detect little difference from inside the cabin (hard acceleration is a little louder...the interior is well insulated from sound). Outside the car, there is a noticeable difference. (I just woke up my 21 month old son when I pulled into the driveway...anyone have a blanket for the dog house.) Adding the FS exhaust to the car is like adding steroids to Barry Bonds.

4. Boost comes on much earlier when accelerating from zero.

5. Increased psi seen (14 all the time...before max was 12)

Overall, the biggest difference I see is the added smoothness to the powerband. Before the mods, accelerating from 0-80 required me to hold on to the Starbucks coffee in the cup holder. Tonight, I accelerated from 0-80 and did not spill one drop.

Congrats on the lll. It's awsome when these cars wake up a little!

What was the cost of each of the three mods?

The FS Exhaust (Quiet Version) was approximately 3400.

The GIAC was approximately 3100.

The FS headers were approximately 1400.

Yes, I went with the Quiet Version. I would call it quiet from inside the cabin and windows rolled up. I would call it loud and aggressive with the windows down and the throttle pinned in second. (It's amazing how much of the sound is not transmitted through the closed windows.)

Noticed the same thing with my AWE 997S.

Jay at fabspeed said there's only 1 version of the system with mufflers( i.e. 1 sound level). apparently the misinterpretation came from the contractor doing the webpage, who counted each of the 997tt options (bypass pipes, cat only, maxflo) as a sound option.

there are deals to be had on these systems. for example,
- fabspeed offers a 15% discount for rennlisters
- sharkwerks has package deals
- imagine auto is running a group buy https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...60#post3858960

Checking other posts on the stage III seems people are getting 17 & 18 psi. Why are you getting 14 and how is there such a gap?

Probably was due to ambient temperature (approximately 28 at the time.)

Now, the weather has been warmer and I am consistenty seeing 17.

Before the mods, I only saw 13's for brief flashes.
