Default Trunk Release Fix

I just installed the Mods4Cars Remote Key Fix. It took about an hour. It's pretty fool proof. Works great. Now the trunk button needs to be depressed for 2 seconds before trunk opens. Also, it has some other nice features that can be activated...automatic door lock and unlock, windows up/windows down with locking or unlocking, home lights on/off.

Well worth it to not accidentally open the hood.

I'm sure that you already know this, but the dealer can code the remotes to where the buttons have to be depressed a bit longer before they activate.

Not long enough, however, via the dealer set.. the other, however, is a bit too costly, hardly worth all that money for most that can be done at dealer.

I have found the key operation a real pain in the a*s. Regularily find that when I have put keys in pocket the car doors are open or the hood is open
Where did you get the key fix and at what cost?

Default Why is a mod needed?

It seems to me the button has to be held for 2 seconds with no mods.

Default trunk release

According to my dealer there are three settings,
the longest delay being 1100 ms.

I bought the fix at mods4cars.com. I believe it was 200-300.00 or so. Now, I can keep the keys in my pocket without finding an open front lid. You have to press the lid button for a couple of seconds. Works great and a piece of cake to install. I was a little hesitant at first (and even called mods4cars to inquire about returning it). It's working out well.
