Default Spacesavers for 997 Turbos?

Hi all,

Just had a serious puncture at speed in my old Carrera 3.2, 2 weeks after I just put in a set of SO-3s. Made me think about sourcing for a spare wheel for the coming 997 Turbo.

I've seen a post or two describing the use of a 996 space saver spare for use with the 997 Carrera S with 19 inch tires. I was wondering whether a similar arrangement would work with the 19 inch Turbo wheels?

Thanks in advance.

In the UK, you can order a space saving spare as an option on a TT, I'm gonna try and get one of those setups myself. I've needed my spare twice on the C4S.....been there, done that, got the t shirt.

is there room up front for it....don't think so with the 4-wheel drive?? I just got the tire insurance from the dealer for $600. Will pay for a new tire whenever there is a tire failure. Just need to have it towed in to a dealer. Not sure if having a space saver spare would be any less convenient. You still have to wait for a tow truck to install it or carry a jack with you, then where does the jack go, in the back seat. I would like a space saver for long trips, however, but again if you make it to a gas station, you would have to wait several days to have a tire delivered.

It all fits just like in the current C4S/TT's(996).

While visiting from the 997 forum, came accross this thread.
I think you will find your solution here: Spare Tire thread
And to give credit where credit is due, the above post comes from "Coochas aka Dave" who seems to have found the solution, and made it look nice too!
Hope this helps.
