Default Calibre K40?

You guys have any experience with this? I have a V1 now, but might go with a K40. Does it work wirlessly via bluetooth?

Here's the joke...

The thing still has wires. You adjust it with a BT controller that is easily misplaced in the interior.

keep your V1. Put the moola into a laser jammer. Blinder M-20 is the unit I use. More and more LIDAR all the time.

No need to misplace the controller. It comes with a mounting pad that you can put out of the way. Never lose it.

If you are so disorganized that you can't find the remote in your car then you've got more important problems.

My, that was harsh.

I have this unit and like it because it's so stealth. No visible radar detector for thieves and cops. The little remote will slide around under hard acceleration... but I put that sticky stuff from radio shack on the back of it- supposed to be for cell phones but it works great. It has saved me from several tickets but it's probably not as sensitive as the V1 but it works and is less intrussive than most.

There are always the "which is the best detector" threads. I think most will bet their licenses on the V1 more than any other. Why don't you just have it installed professionally? It's clean, and you'll end up using it a lot more. I can't tell you how many tickets I've gotten with my detector literally in my glove box.

Allegretto, I'm going to have a laser jammer installed w/ my V1. Never had the jammer before. Do they really work?

So far so good. But I dont really know since I do go past a supposed LIDAR cop a couple times a week but my 8500 haas not sounded the laser alarm. However laser is quite focal at short ranges and V1's and 8500 can miss them.

Hard to tell...

Default the Calibre K40 system

I am a really strong advocate of the V1, but decided to try this really stealthy Calibre system.

My feeling is that it is not as sensitive as the V1. Also, you can set it up to warn you verbally whether the threat is from the front or the rear, but it just doesn't happen as instantaneously as on my V1, so you lose precious milliseconds as the "voice" tells you what direction the threat is.

I have lots of doubts about the laser jammer on the Calibre.

My advice - find someone who can give you a stealthy V1 installation and a top rated laser blinder.

I have tested the K40 Calibre laser jammer system's and it doesnt work. It has such poor performance K40 tells its dealers this nor will any laser jammer work under 1,000 ft which is a avg. distance that a cop will shoot you with laser. My LPP will jam to gun (cop gets no reading or punch thru my laser jamer defense) easily from a 1,000 ft. away or at any distance. The closer you are to the cop shooting laser makes it harder for the laser jammer to work. I have been hit coming around a corner and the LEO was about 300 feet and hit me with laser and he was jammed and I was speeding but that still gave me time to slow down very quickly and turn off the jammer.

LPP = Laser Park Pro.

Gentlemen, I just installed a unit in my 997TT and it seems to work well! Best thing is that it doubles as a parking sensor so it may even give me a chance to get out of that 'obstruction of justice' ticket if I get caught.

I may take some shots now and start a new thread.
