Blk 997TT available in Canada
For any Canadians who wants one now, there's a Blk on Blk 997TT with 500 kilometers available at Westport Motors in Vancouver. Looks like the dealer is asking MSRP $179,900 ... which is unusual for cars in high demand.

It's a US car, they imported from the states, with the list price difference between Canada and US, I am sure they make more than enough at that price.

you're right ... it's an US car
Whoopsy
hmmm, i was wondering why the dealer was so "reasonable" about the asking price. it is an US car ...i just zoomed in on the speedo and it reads 225 on the analog dial.
darn porsche is killing the resale value of canadian cars by encouraging the gray market with the big exchange rate differential they are charging us. there are 996TT cabs here going for $120-130k down from msrp of around $200k in 2004.

With the current exchange rate, Porsche is making a killing on the Canadian list price, but Porsche is kinda stuck there as if they lowered the list price for new cars to be more inline with the US, they re-sale value is gonna take a even bigger hit. Most of the 996s on the road is gonna to take at least a 30k hit if not more on resale right there, and about the same for the 997 also, considered how many 996+997 owners out there right now, that's not a very smart thing to do at all. About the only thing they could do is to NOT increase prices for the next few years and let inflation take care of the exchange rate difference. However, consider how small the Canadian market is, Porsche could care less on higher than normal list price, they know their cars are in such short supply here in Canada that there will be more than enough new takers to replaced the angered ones.
